5th of november
In fact, this is not one celebration as such, there are in fact six separate Lewes Bonfire Society’s all celebrating the Fifth in various parts of the town, all with their own processions, traditions, costumes, fire sites and fireworks. Tis better to be too dry and too warm than, soggy, wet and feckin cold. Bring plenty of money for the Lewes Bonfire charity collection boxes and be prepared for long waits, heavy crowds, loud noise and lots of smoke.
